just thought you would like to see how my diamond log cabin (dunsters pattern) turned out, I'm not quilt finished yet, desiding whether to square it up with pale grey or just leave it, suggestion would be appreciated

Great Job ! I need to locate my copy of this pattern - I bought it when it first came out , every time I see a new one I think , yep maybe now is the time .... Still not sure I am good enough to try it

LTeachergeorge 06-15-2012 09:00 PM

It is very beautiful as it is, but I think the gray would be pretty also. Sorry I'm not much help! LOL

Same here! Got it when she first started selling it and here it sits. Shame on me! Yours is beautiful, maybe I'll get up the courage to try!

mcdaniel023 06-16-2012 04:05 AM

That is really beautiful. I was given the pattern in a swap as a challenge. I keep getting it out and then chicken out. Maybe this summer I will get the courage to start. : )

katsewnsew 06-16-2012 04:06 AM

Its really pretty, I would leave as it, too! Great job!

judikay 06-16-2012 04:08 AM

How does one get the pattern????

Just Me... 06-16-2012 04:12 AM

Wow! That's a real beauty!

granmalovesyou 06-16-2012 04:38 AM

where can I purchase this pattern

Tartan 06-16-2012 04:39 AM

It's beautiful! It would depend on what I wanted to use it for if I added the triangles to square it up. If I wanted it for my bed and I have a solid matching colour bedspread, I might leave it the way it is and center it on the bed. If I wanted it for conpetition, I might leave it the way it is because it looks so perfect now. If I wanted it for my main bed quilt I would probably squared the edges.

WOW beautiful

fivepaws 06-16-2012 05:22 AM

Wow!!! you have a lot of patience. That is one for my DD who loves pink. Her 50th B'day is this month........that is in case you get tired of it.

Kitsie 06-16-2012 06:49 AM

Me too. Add the gray.

Carol, you did a fantastic job! I am so happy when I see one of these quilts finished. I think that pale grey would look great on the corners, but if you like the hexagon shape then leave it as it is.

To those looking for the pattern - pm me and I'll give you the details.

oma66 06-16-2012 08:13 AM

WOW! It is wonderful.

Taughtby Grandma 06-16-2012 08:40 AM

If you square it up with the grey, I'll bet this will almost look 3D on the bed. WOW.

patsynel 06-16-2012 08:42 AM

This a beautiful quilt and you did a superb job. Thanks for showing

mighty 06-16-2012 08:57 AM

Tweety2911 06-16-2012 02:29 PM

I have that pattern somewhere from Dunster. You did a great job!

charismah 06-16-2012 03:06 PM

Beautiful! I would square it up with gray..lots of quilting potential! For sure!

sylvia77 06-16-2012 03:31 PM

It depends on what you want to do with it. It would be beautiful as is for a wallhanging but for a bed quilt it would fit easier if it was squared. It turned out beautiful, by the way!

Diane007 06-16-2012 04:18 PM

Fantastic. I love the loves

landers1 06-16-2012 05:20 PM

That is really beautiful

EvelynJ 06-16-2012 06:16 PM

Wow, that is just lovely. What do you plan to do with this? Will it be a wall hanging? Draped over a couch or bed? If you plan on hanging it I would not square it up. If you are placing it on a couch or bed then I would use the pale grey for the squaring.

watson's mom 06-16-2012 07:37 PM

This is beautiful and a must find pattern for me.Grays and black would make it pop. I think this pattern would be pretty used as a table topper.
