It looks a little bowed out at the bottom because I ran out of room to hand it up. It hangs straight though. I'll put it up on my wall at work. That should be the last "space" that I'll fill up. I think I might keep that section of the office to rotate in and out different wall hangings.

The panels are beautiful and your work is gorgeous.

It's gorgeous B. But you forgot to show the backside and the great quilting job you did!

The back doesn't come out very well in pictures since I used a thread that blended into the background. I'll try to get a better pix of the back tomorrow when i'm at work. That lighting might be better for it.

grammyp 07-25-2010 04:46 AM

That is just lovely. I love the vivid colors.

THanks for all the encouragement people. This is what I do with pillow forms. I LOVE pillows but hate making them so I turn them into wall hangings. :) This fabric was found by doing a search on ebay for "african fabric".

Love the theme and the colours...your office must be a great place to work.

I have the BEST boss, in my not so humble opinion. Wouldn't trade him for anything. He goes to Africa each year for two months and always brings me back something. For about 4 years, he brought me back fabric. Still haven't done anything with it because I have to get out of the "it's too special" to use thinking and start the "what am I going to make" with it thinking.

Wow lucky girl, it will be something really nice, I am sure.

Pineapple Princess 07-26-2010 10:44 AM

Nice work!

BonniFeltz 07-26-2010 10:47 AM

Thanks everybody. Now to get rid of it. LOL. I put it in the office where I wanted it to be and I don't like it there. It's all done and now I'm ready to get rid of it. Sigh. I should have known I would feel this way. :)

M.I.Late 07-26-2010 10:47 AM

Very pretty!

Conniequilts 07-26-2010 11:02 AM

So does "get rid of it" mean you are wanting to sell it? If so, how much?

Yes I'm going to sell it. I have to get enough guts to do that though. I guess I don't normally have enough confidence in my own abilities to ask much for my stuff. What would you think would be a good price? $20?

You're nuts (sorry) your work is great. If you are ok with 20 then 20 it is, but.....

BonniFeltz 07-26-2010 11:13 AM

The $20 would be twice what I paid for material costs. That's where I came up with that.

BonniFeltz 07-27-2010 12:52 PM

I sold it. Hung it in my office for half a day and had two offers. I sold it to my Graduate Assistant whose parents are from Ghana for $20. I am happy. Now to figure out my next project. :)

earthwalker 07-27-2010 07:53 PM

Lucky Graduate Assistant! I think $20.00 is as we say in Australia "mates rates", which is ok for co-workers and friends...but Bonni, your work is just lovely and if you decide to sell to others, you need to raise your confidence and your prices.

BonniFeltz 07-28-2010 04:19 AM

Thanks earthwalker. I did do 2x cost. It was pillow forms and I just quilted around what was already there so not very creative nor hard to do. I didn't even do any decorative stitches but just a plain old straight stitch. Still, I will try and have more confidence in my quilting abilities and perhaps SLOWLY (grins) charge more. It will be tough though.

maggy 06-23-2011 02:39 PM

Bonni these are beautiful, you did a great job. This is inspiration to me because I have 2 panels that I need to get started on. I also have some fabric I bought while we were in Ghana, have never cut it because it is so special I don't know what I want to do with it.Need to do something with it soon, it's been 8yrs. since we were there. Will gladly accept ideas.
