finished quilt top, it needs a name still

Usually I have a name early on in a quilt, but this one evades me. It is one I donated the making of to an auction for the little boy's family that was wounded by the tree limb falling on him.
The winner said surprise her, and she likes Africa, bright colors and hunting. This is what I came up with. Any suggestions for a name? |
When you shared your pics the other day, my mind went to the I Spy quilts .... so my name suggestion is .........
I Spy in Africa! Your colours and fabrics have come together ever-so nicely. The recipient will have many hours of "spying" and enjoyment from your choice for her. |
"Lost in Africa" is my suggestion. How did you do the decreasing size of blocks and still get them to all fit together? Is there a pattern for this? This is amazing quilt .... for its color and texture.

Another I just thought of ............. Out of Africa (80's movie?)
Though I do like MaryMo's Lost in Africa best of all! :) |
Yes, both are good names, but I think Lost in Africa is the better because of the mixture of squares and the lack of defined "pictures" in many of the squares. I was in Sub-Saharan Africa last year. Your quilt is a wonderful reminder. Most of the African material is either whimsical or it is traditional, with a wide variety of meanings. Your quilt fits in well! Great job!
