Finished two jelly roll quilts
3 Attachment(s)
One of the DDs' friends turned 21 and another got married. I gave both of them jelly roll race quilts. The first one was my first attemp for which I used random strips cut from the willing stash. The backing is made of 12" blocks so that the quilt is quite reversable. The other one is done in Paula's favourite colours - purple and turquise - and I cut the WOF strips in half to work with shorter strips. Both were squiggled, since that is the favourite and quickest way for me (on the DSM). There is a third top which will be finished in due time. My theme for the year is picnic quilts, so there is a lot of fun ahead of me.

On my short list to do, they are very pretty and I too like the shorter strips breaks up the color more!

Great job. I really like the purple one.
|
They are beautiful!!! :) Great job on all of them.
|
Wonderful looking quilts. I have some jelly rolls and I want to make one - cutting the strips smaller is a great idea. Great job on all yours.

Beautiful quilts!

Oh, I love the 3rd quilt, especially the colors. Nice pattern.

Love the jelly roll race quilts. So simple and pretty. You did a wonderful job making beautiful gifts.

They're fabulous! I've been wanting to try this pattern for eons & plan to do it Sunday during the virtual quilt-in. I can only hope mine turns out half as nice as yours did! Thanks for sharing!

Very Cute! Looks good and strippy! Love the colors and the simple design. Very eye catching!
|
Love those, they are beautiful.

Love ALL your quilts! I had a great time doing my own Jelly Roll 1600 quilt last fall, but found out after the class that many people are cutting the strips into two oddball lengths to make the effect even more colorful. (Guess what I'll be doing on my next 1600 quilts ...) These are such fun to make and it always shows.

Both are very nice, I am partiaal to the second one, I have my jelly roll ready to make one...

Nice use of the jelly rolls. I have two but have not decided how to use them.

Aren't they fun to make!? I love to do them when I have nothing special to do. Great colors.

I too like the idea of using shorter strips.....another design I saw in a mag was using small rectangles randomly between the strips to give some added design........love the way the original is beginning to re-create itself.......

Thanks for sharing. Love the colors.
