WOW! That is eye popping beautiful! I don't think I'd have the patience but that is so gorgeous! I love the colors as well!

That is absolutely amazing! If you are using it as a wall hanging, where did you put the hanging sleeve? Yeah, I know, on the back. What I mean is how far down from the top? Or are you going to use clips?
Was it a pattern you'd recommend to others? I'd love to give it a try!!!!
bev. :]
My DH and I are still working on that. In order for it to hang properly and not sag anywhere you almost have to have something to stablize each circle on the outside. We have an idea working but not sure yet. See what you all think, Put small sleeves (closed on three sides) in the binding area and then slide flat rods or stiff plastic rods (has to be flush with the back) in the sleeves. They come together in the middle similar to an umbrella, that way if you need to transport it somewhere just pull out the frame, fold the wall hanging and then reinsert the frame. If it can be done my DH can do it! My concern is the sleeves. If I don't want the
sewing to show in the binding I will have to hand sew them on.

You definitely have to have a design board to do this.

The name of this pattern is Crown of Thorns by Judy Neiymer(?) never can spell her name right. It is paper pieced. Once you do 2 or 3 of the circles the rest are easy. Getting past the first few is the hardest. After that you have a rhythm going. It is originally a squared quilt, I just left off the blocks and border. The quilt has a beautiful and unusal border.

I love it and will be watching for it in the next OKC quilt show!! It looks like a tremendous amount of work but it sure paid off!
