This quilt is larger than a king size sheet and is very heavy. I did not use any batting due to the weight already. It took two people standing in the back of a pick-up truck to hold it up for me to take these pictures. It was made for a friend's son for his birthday (today). I was glad to have it ready in time. Another gifted project.

The 36 double thickness blocks, 18" square is what makes it so heavy.

That is a great quilt.

My neice and her boyfriend are both volunteer fire fighters with the North Lincoln Fire district in Lincoln City OR. So I know she would love this quilt if she saw it.

Great job. Did you stitch in the ditch? It's such a big quilt.

I did not use any batting due to the fact that it is double thickness. The sashing is stitched on both edges, so I think that is all I needed as far as the "quilting" process goes. It is one heavy quilt, that is for sure.
