This is the first quilt I finished. It is a wallhanging for my best friend who just moved to Tennessee last summer. I had it quilted-by-credit-card at my LQS.

That is one awesome job that you did. I just love everything about it. Did you start with a panel of some kind?

WOW.. great job!

sandybeach 12-02-2008 08:15 AM

Debbie, Yes, it was a panel with the 15 printed blocks. If you're interested, I may remember where I purchased it on-line.

Dawn, thanks.

I would be very interested. I just love those. I used to live out your way in Bakersfield. LOL It was so good to get away from the heat!

Are the printed blocks appliqued on top? Would love to know where you purchased the panel.

sandybeach 12-02-2008 01:56 PM

roseville rose - the printed blocks come on a panel. You just fussy cut them out and sew them together just like any pieced block. When I get home tonight I will try to get the manufacturer and fabric line and will post tomorrow.

I will also look up the pattern. It was in a magazine about 2 years ago.

Oh you are going to have to write the directions for this....
This could be used for any panel, if you used one, or any large prints....
Great idea...
Great Results!!!!
Thanks,

triciasquilts 12-03-2008 08:54 AM

What a fantastic quilt!! You did a great job on your first one! And the quilting is magnificent.

sandybeach 12-03-2008 09:08 AM

Found the pattern last night. :D My LQS printed it out for me from a magazine on-line. Don't know what magazine they got it from.

The pattern is "Christmas Constellation" by Susan Winget for Benartex. The fabric collection is called Christmas Treasures and I just checked and Benartex is still carrying this line.

If you want the pattern PM me with your address. If I have too many requests, I may ask you to send me a self-addressed stamped envelope.

It is a very easy pattern to do (as I am still basically a beginner).

My LQS did the quilting. They have a minimum of $35 so that is what I paid for this. Don't know if that is the going rate as we seem to pay more in this town than anywhere else. (Gas is still $2.39)
