I put one side of the border on just to see what it looked like. I was really pleased, up until the very last section when I ironed my little finger!
Still standing on the coffee table. Don't tell hubby, I stood on the coffee table to get this shot! |
Oh, ouch Blue - do you have an aloe vera plant? That's what I put on burns, works a treat! Won't tell hubby you stood on the COFFEE TABLE!!!!! Naughty girl!
K x PS Should have said - loving that border! And the yellow is JUST enough to set off the blue and white without over powering it! :D |
Man it hurts! I kept thinking "i'll just finish this bit then I'll put it under the cold tap".
Of course, by the time I'd pressed the seam it was far too late. *sigh* I have some aloe on it now. |
Get someone to 'give a kiss on it' - always works for my kids! LOL
K x |
I'm far too old to fall for that! lol
Unless it's a Vodka Kiss ... that would make it feel better. I'm pleased with the border... it's a bit much but not a lot too much, I like it. :-) |

Oooh! I hate it when that happens!
It's looking GOOD! |
OUCH Sorry about your little finger that really does hurt.
|
Beautiful quilt! It might make you feel less klutzy to know that I chopped off the tip of my middle finger with my rotary cutter Sunday- -kind of makes it difficult to type.

I have a morbid fascination with my finger now... it's the last knuckle on the little finger that I burned, and it's blistered, so it looks quite odd. |

I'll add another three inch blue border after this one, and that will be it. I've been laying it out on my bed and it's going to look stunning. This is the first queen size quilt I've ever done, it wasn't supposed to be this big! LOL Absolutely no idea how I'm going to quilt it. It will fit on my frame, but I'm worried now I won't do it justice. I'm still new to free motion quilting. |
Beautiful quilt!! Of course I am partial to blue and yellow but even so this is BEAUTIFUL! Love the boarder. Can't wait to see it finished.
Sorry about your finger :( Hope there isn't a next time but....be a little faster with the aloe :!: |
Ouch! That had to hurt!
But on the up side - your quilt is coming out beautifully!! I love the yellow with it! :-) Kendra |
The quilt is absolutely stunning!!!
(Sorry about your burnt finger -- I'm always doing that....) |
Ouch, but the blue, yellow and whilte looks great.
|
Your star quilt is absolutely gorgeous. Love that yellow with the blue and white and love your border.
Sorry about your finger - I usually just steam mine. |
Your quilt is stunning. Love the boarders you are adding.

That is looking so very nice - I loved it when you first showed it. Sorry about the finger - hope it's better soon!
|
I hope your finger is healing fast What a beautiful quilt. The burn was worth it, huh? Everyone makes such beautiful quilts and my list of quilts to make keeps growing and growing. Like you say, I may never die.
|
Love it!! Sorry about your finger. I won't tell.
|
That looks great and I love the yellow with the blue and white. Those are classic and timeless combinations, kind of French Country style.
|
owww, chihuahua! .... hope this doesn't slow you up too much!
The quilt is coming along quite nicely. That yellow is just such a classy splash of color! I would never have thought of it, but maybe next time <g> |
Love Your Quilt and the border is great too~
Next time you do that? Lets hope you've learned not to iron fingers andy more... Put toothpaste on it! It cools it right away and it won't blister. I use to work with electronic's and soldered for years, I was always burning my poor fingers! OUCH FOR SURE~ I kept a small tube in my drawer and it sounds silly I know but it really works! Hope you don't have to try it, but just in case keep it in mind. |
Sorry you burned your finger, but your quilt is gorgeous! I love the blue and yellow together!
|
Beautiful. Love what you did with your squares. Oh, but am so sorry about your finger. That hurts sooooo much.
|
That has turned out stunning Blue... you've done an amazing job.. it looks so crisp and clean. Don't pop the blister if you can help it. Sorry you got the owie. Poor baby...
|
love your quilt! the border is very pretty!
|
Very nice.
Something else that works is putting mustard on the burn. Got that from "peoplespharmacy.com". |
What a beautiful quilt it will be! Love the stars. They are one of my favorites!
The colors are gorgeous! I'm not good at doing an on point layout. But I love to see others! Can't wait to see it done! I have to stand on the step stool when I take pics of my stuff on my table. Can't get a good enough angle any other way. Just be sure you don't fall off the coffee table!! |

The finger is much better this morning, I was worried it would get the tight feeling and not want to bend, but it's perfectly usable. *whew* I keep repeating myself, I'm REALLY pleased with how this is coming together. It's the straightest quilt I've ever done, it's sitting really flat and just going together beautifully. I put the pattern into EQ, and have been cutting the borders exactly at what the print out says, and they fit! I was out by less than 1/8th on one side, and the other sides were perfect. It's a fluke, of course! LOL |
Just goes to show practice makes perfect!!!
|
*jumps up and down* Owie finger!
But I saw my block in there! *points to it* I love what you did with your blocks! It's so pretty!!! |

BTW, great quilt...loving the blue and yellow border!!! poor pinkie...too high a price. I'll be sure and tell mine, to stay out of the way..."now, you remember what happens to little pinkies, that get in the way, of big fat irons, that are screamin hot?"...yes, mama, we remember. |
