I had a lot of fun doing this "Hole in the Barn Door" quilt. It was the second top, but the first finished since I moved here a year ago. I named it "Stars in My Barn" because of the wonderful blue fabric I picked.
Anne Thanks hubby for holding it up for me. I have a tendency to tell my life story on my labels. |

that pattern is perfect for that material....
that square is also called "Sherman's March" and a good one for a CW quilt (which I will use it in my quilt I'm making (when I get time ha ha) for my gr-gr-grandfather) |
Oops
Forgot to say what a lovely idea that you are so descriptive with your label. As much information about a quilt is always a good idea. :D Tisha |

Thanks so much everyone for all the great comments. It feels so nice to have other people see and appreciate the work I put into my quilts. That is why I make a special effort to notice the work of others. I know everyone likes to feel the warmth of loving comments.

Dear Bostpn 1954, I just LOVE your "history label." I wish that I had done that from the beginning. Actually I did do it on the first one, but never since. Think I'll start with the next one.

Aren't quilters' husbands great ??!!! This good sport is holding up the quilt for the snapshot. He should have given a little "peek" for the camera. Good job, hubby. AND GREAT QUILT. LOVE THE COLORS !!

Dear GailG,
When I first started quilting, I did not bother putting on labels. Then I remembered something my mother had told me when I was doing cross stitch. She said it will be worth more in years to come if you put on the back who made it and when. Well, I started adding labels to the quilts that I still had access to. The ones I had kept or given to hubby or sister. There are a few that "got away" unlabeled, but a substantial number of them are "documented". Also, in my computer I have a list of information about the names and what number I gave them, the size AND I have photographed EVERY quilt I have ever made. I have been told that I am very organized. :D Anne |
Yes, Boston, you really ARE organized. I do put my name and date on quilts I make. Sometimes I write the occasion (graduation, etc). But your journalling is outstanding.

I really like this one. Great job.
