A little doll quilt I made from the trimmings of my Old Tobacco Road quilt. I'm going to practice hand quilting on it.

And back to my batiks and wild colors. Whew! I made these coasters or snack mats yesterday and was able to practice many skills! My seam ripping skills are really improving!

I love your little coasters. How big are they! I need to make some, my cups sweat so much. What did you use in the middle?

Chele 09-12-2008 11:09 AM

Ya'll are so sweet! Thank you!

Sue, the doll quilt is 12.5" x 14.5". Maybe it won't take me a year to hand quilt it!

Jim's Gem, the coasters are 5.25" square. I just put cotton batting (low loft) inside, but I bet an old washcloth would help soak up moisture. I like that they're washable. I always spill on my stone coasters and they stain.
