Yesterday, for Virtual Quilt Day, my goal was to sort and compact my scraps. While doing that, I found the right scraps for my LC Chick. By the way, my two tubs were only reduced to 1.5 tubs, so not a real help for moving :)

The comb and wattle are made from my galfriend's leftover hairy yarn. She knits lovely winter hats with it.

quilt-n-girl 04-22-2013 04:01 PM

That turned out really cute. The hairy yarn was the perfect finishing touch.

richardswife 04-23-2013 01:18 PM

This would make a great gift. Did you use a pattern?

Cyn 04-23-2013 01:22 PM

Awesome chick! I make them in different sizes for Easter to sit around. Yours would be great company for mine...

trolleystation 04-23-2013 04:35 PM

i used a pattern i'd found online for the one i made years ago, but not for this one. i just used my memory. :)

toolazy 04-23-2013 05:05 PM

Oh, is that cute! I could see a whole shelf- or windowsill-full of them, just for decoration.

coastienest 04-23-2013 05:33 PM

Too cute! I think I need to do an internet search for the pattern tonight

lclang 04-24-2013 04:26 AM

I've made those little chicks but yours has the most hilarious comb and wattles! It makes me laugh every time I look at it. I'm going to have to look through my odd trims and yarns to see if I have something that would work as well!

Daisy Dew 04-24-2013 04:45 AM

Here we go again! Love the chicken and you've make more work for me! Most of my family has this thing with chickens so now I have another project!

Such a snazzy chick!

Dogwood Quilter 04-24-2013 05:24 AM

I love the yarn idea. I've made these chickens and started one of the log cabin ones that I never finished. I've got to dig that out and finish it with yarn. I've also knitted the scarves but not sure I ever did a red one. I will have to dig out my leftover yarn and see what I have. Thanks for the post and picture.

BuzzinBumble 04-24-2013 05:29 AM

That is the best funky chicken PC! Love it!
