Going Away Quilt
 

Friends of ours have received orders to go back to Italy a year sooner than expected. We are so sad that they are leaving. When they were over for dinner a while ago, she admired this quilt top that I had just completed, so I sent it to my LAQer, who always does fabulous work; had a beautiful label made for it by a very talented member of QB (she did it in Italian for us!); and bound it off by hand. We are presenting it to them this coming Sunday at a barbeque party, since it will probably be the last time we see them before they leave around Aug. 1st. I hope that when they snuggle under it in Rome they will remember the wonderful times we had here in the U.S. We are looking forward to visiting them in Rome sometime later this year.

Wendy, what a wonderful keepsake you are giving your friends. The colors are so pretty and I love the backing material. I am sure they will think of you often while snuggled under their pretty quilt!

That is a beautiful quilt and I can see why your friend admired it! The backing is great as are the colors and the quilting and label! I love everything about it and I'm sure they will, too!
