The name tag is for my quilting group. I'm not real good at coming up with novel ideas, so I thought, "What better than a quilt!" I have never made a quilt that small, but picked out some fall colored scraps and started cutting. Here is what I ended up with. Now to decide what to put my name and Heritage Quilters on. I'm going to head for Hobby Lobby next week to see what I can find. Of course, if anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it! Oh, BTW, the corners are mitered  LOL!

The measurements for this mini are: 2 2/4" X 4 1/4" and the blocks are 7/16".

Adorable. How about hand embroidering your name on it?? I cant believe you mitered your corners...you are good :)

SuziC 09-04-2011 10:06 AM

How cute is that!!!

Willa 09-04-2011 10:32 AM

Could you get some clear plastic (same size) and write your guild name on that (could make small holes in the 4 corners and tie it on). For your name how about getting those beads with the letters on them and dangle the letters from the bottom of your quilt to spell your name.

ooooo... love it!!!

Glassquilt 09-04-2011 11:14 AM

Great idea - may borrow it.

Cute. Better than a name tag!

klarina 09-04-2011 11:44 AM

Very cute your tiny quilt. Looks like it will be fun to make one like that, mittered corners and all. Awesome.

QUILTNMO 09-04-2011 11:51 AM

very cute

sylviak 09-04-2011 12:22 PM

This one looks like fall. I'll have to make another one for winter in blues and snowflakes (although snowflakes are few and far between in southern Oklahoma).

Too cute! A very clever idea.

Cute name tag. How about alphabet macaroni glued on for names? It always worked for our kid's projects.

anniec55 09-04-2011 05:43 PM

WOW!!

oksewglad 09-04-2011 05:47 PM

My kind of quilt!

wolfkitty 09-04-2011 06:51 PM

What if you appliqued a small rectangle of light-colored coordinating fabric with your name on it? That way, it would stand out.

debcavan 09-04-2011 06:52 PM

That is so tiny. It looks great

Difergie 09-05-2011 04:04 AM

Get the alphabet beads and sew those on for your name

cyniree 09-05-2011 04:13 AM

Oh that is Soooo cute. Oh my gosh.

Tweety2911 09-05-2011 05:35 AM

I like the "dangle bead" idea!

doowopddbop 09-05-2011 06:19 AM

Oh, my! How sweet and cute!

ILove2quilt 09-05-2011 06:28 AM

I'm so glad I looked at this. My first meeting is coming up this Thursday for our quilting guild and I need to make a new one because I lost mine. I don't think it will be as nice as your's. Thanks for sharing.

gramquilter2 09-05-2011 06:42 AM

That was a customer's antique quilt. The squares were about 14 inches wide.

plmsmith 09-05-2011 11:57 AM

So cute

blueangel 09-05-2011 12:00 PM

Very cute

Jo Belmont 09-05-2011 02:30 PM

Oh, I wouldn't cover up a speck of it. Consider using it with the pin on back and name, club info, etc. in a small hanging "shingle" type or possibly beads, etc.

Wonderful, and you've inspired me for a project I have waiting in the wings.

butterflies5518 09-05-2011 05:41 PM

now that is tiny, what a set a patience you have, great job

RobertaMarie 09-05-2011 07:35 PM

Love your little quilt. It would be neat if you could hang a plastic name tag from the quilt. Be a shame to put anything on that will hide your wonderful work. However, it is yours, so do what you need to do. It is just darling.

Sandyb 09-06-2011 05:06 AM

Wow. How were you able to make half inch blocks? Was that hard to do? Great corners on the blocks.
