I decided to make memory pillows out of my grandpa's shirts. I got quite a few finished in time to give as Christmas gifts, and they were well received. I made the middle square a picture of my grandma and grandpa using fabric made for ink jet printers, and made the back of the pillows out of parts of the shirts. Each one was different, and all were pretty special. Thanks for all the suggestions. You guys are wonderful!

That is such a good idea! Wish I had thought of that when my Dad passed on. I wasn't a quilter then so it never struck my mind!

What a nice gift for your family. Mom used pj tops that my dad did not wear as he liked the t-shirts with a pocket; to make our two grandsons a quilt. They boys still have their quilts and they mean something to them.
Fantastic idea & they will be cherished, I'm sure.

Awww these are treasures!! I love how you added the pictures to the front, and how you used the shirt front as the closure on the back! :D:D:D
How clever!! Now I know what to do with my late DH's favorite shirts.
They turned out wonderful!
what wonderful pillows - my 88 yr old step dad wears nothing but cowboy shirts with snaps, I've been collecting a few of them to make into a quilt maybe for his daughter, but I guess if I made pillows I could share with all of his kids. Thanks for the great ideals
That is so nice. I wrapped one of daddy's shirts around my pillow when he died eight years ago and I kept it there for a few weeks. Ya can't help yer self.....love is love! Your project is so wonderful and I bet it was the hit of the season. Thanks for showing them. Blessings, Ruth

What a clever idea for the pillow backing--placket already in place and ready to be "re-purposed". Thanks for sharing.
