grandson's lst try at quilting.

when my two grandsons who are 10 and 8 were up for christmas week, they wanted to make their mom a quilt. they pretty much did all the sewing of the strips together, and a lot of the rotary cutting and ironing. i think i put the top together for them, and had it quilted. mom got to take it home with her, when they left.

sorry, can't figure out how to post pictures with this new computer. have google chrome, but it's just not jumping out at me right now.

Love your story. And it was all for MOM! This is the perfect age to get young guys interested in understanding how a sewing machine works. I started my son out and helped out his class in middle school home economics learn how to sew pillows. It's so energizing to get some of their interest now. It will pay off in the future.

Congrats, grandma sewNso!

if you don't have the icons, go to General Settings, scroll way down, choose WYSIWYG, and save your changes.

How wonderful of you to help them make this quilt for their Mom. Did she cry, I know that I would have. Very special. BrendaK

yes, she almost cried. i told the GS that men quilt also. and explained how men used to sew grandpa's patches on his leather jackets when he rode motorcycles. and that they made their living at it. etc.

i chose 2 or 3 colors, then let them choose the next color, then the next, etc. with my material standing up on mini boards, they could see what i had.
