Handkerchief Quilt

Howdy y'all :c)
A few months ago, I saw a lap quilt somewhere on the internet that was made out of ladies hankies. I thought it was beautiful, and decided to make one on a little bit larger scale to give to my ex-mother-in-law to put on her bed at the nursing home she is in. I just got it finished yesterday, and I think it turned out pretty good. :c) What do y'all think? Donna |
I think it's beautiful! She should love it!
So very pretty - and such a wonderful gift. Did you buy them or did you have a hankie stash ??

This is one quilt I do want to make after the holidays. I have all of my mothers hankies, she passed away almost
2 years ago age 99. I love the way you used different color fabrics for the background. |
Pretty quilt.....lovely layout. Lucky lady:)

Have a Blessed day Ellen |
Very very pretty. I hope you have her name permanently on the quilt so it doesn't grow legs.
It looks cheerful and will be wonderful for her.
What a terrific quilt! She will love it.
Great ideal to do with my DM / GM old hankies. Thanks . Really pretty.
Very pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Be sure your name is on the quilt or her name. quilts have a way of getting lost in a nursing home.
It's really pretty and I'm sure she will love it. It's so special when people take time to do things for people who can no longer do for themselves. You did a super job!
what a wonderful way to display them. could you post a few more pics of it so i can get a better view. i have these southwest hankies that i wanted to do this with but didn't have any ideas how to display them but i love what you have done. just need to see more of it. please and thank you.
It turned out really good, beautiful and she will love it.
The quilt is just beautiful, and such a kind and loving gesture on your part.
It's beautiful. Just make sure that you have large identification on the back. Things like that grow legs and walk away very quickly.
It is so lovely, thanks for sharing.
Beautiful quilt, she will love it.
I love this and you MIL will love it also
My mom passed away in January of this year, I was lucky enough to receive her and my grandmother handkerchiefs, this look like the best way I have seen to place them with out damage to them. Could you let me know how you placed the handkerchiefs, I think i read that you fused them. happy quilting yippie |
I think she is 1 lucky MIL! Glad you still love her.
