HI

I have attached a photo of my elephant quilt. I need some help. I would like to make it bigger but I do not want to make the quilt look too busy.

Does anyone have some ideas on some borders clolours, patterns etc that might help me.

I thought of using small squares in different colours but that would not really blend in too well. So far the quilt has been made up using all the material I have at home so it has not cost me anything so far.

many thanks

Nelle

I don't have any ideas, but had to tell you I think the quilt is adorable.

thanks, apart from joining the squares on the machine, it is all hand stitched. But dont have any good ideas about finishing it.

Another vote here for adorable! Since your elephants have some red in their blankets, what about a red border, or something with a red/blue print?

I think a red border would be great too. but if you don't have any AND have more of the yellow, that would work as a border too.

I think it needs something darker around the edges to frame it..maybe some of the purple or dark pink that you have already used or maybe even a navy?? Or maybe you could think back to your time in bali to see if some bali style fabrics inspires? Looking great so far!

I agree with the red border choice

That is adorable. I think a red and/or yellow border would look very nice.

Reds and yellow borders seem a good idea. If they are plain they can always be quilted. Where I do classes has a quilting machine and we can learn how to use it. I thought of picking up some material for the quilt while in Bali. Many thanks for your support

Maybe you could add another yellow row around the outside and then continue with something else. You could quilt the elephant border to look like squares sewn together and then just add on outside the yellow border... Does that make sense... Quilter 1234
