After looking at all the pictures of everyone elses vintage machines, I had to get out mine and see if I could get them going. I am ashamed that it took me a couple of years of stashing them away and not even thinking about them. All it took was having my main machine (Pfaff) go on the fritz and no one to fix it, until my husband decided to take a look at it. That is another story. Could someone please help me identify it? I just love the color and all it needed was a belt, cleaning and some oil. It sews a perfect straight stitch.
And all for $3.00

Don't know, but what a handsome machine!
Are there any serial numbers or other identifying numbers?

It is a pretty sewing machine! I’m interested to hear what others might know about your machine. So glad you have it up and running!

I would suggest doing a Google search on "vintage brother sewing machines" and click on the "images" option. You may be able to find a photo that matches your machine and figure out the model that way.

I spent a hour or so this afternoon and didn't show anything. I worded it several ways and still nothing close.

Try doing a search on eBay. I just did that and got a few pictures of vintage machines. Some might be close enough to yours to give you at least an approximate series for the model.

I think this one on eBay looks very close:

The "portable" version like this one may have a slightly different model number from the cabinet version you have.

Anything on the badge on top of the motor?

Thank you, thank you. That is the machine. Now the mystery is solved. Thanks again.

Hi!
I found your original image while doing a Google search and had to look closely at the background of your picture. That is the same exact machine my Grandma gave me over 20 yrs ago. I know she bought it at Kroger-- probably in Jay County, IN. Can you help me date it?
Thank you, Rose
Ps-- I'm originally from Bluffton. I grew up on 500 N-- right off St Rd 1
