Here's #5 on 2013 mission to use up scraps
2 Attachment(s)
Just off the frame. My version of stacked coins. Not a good picture, it is prettier in person, second pic is better. I offset the squares to give some movement, also less seams to match. Quilted with allover feathered leaf pattern in varigated thread in browns, golds, yellow and bits of red. Used high loft poly batting for first time. I like that is more fluffy.

So very pretty!!! Also it is such a work saving idea to offset the blocks - not to mention that it is more interesting.

Beautiful! I, too, am on a quest to use up scraps. I have 2 already cut out.
|
I love these kind of quilts! Uses up some of those scraps for sure.
|
Love it!!!!

That is beautiful!

Very pretty. Reminds me of stained glass. Love your idea of offsetting your squares. Very clever and effective!

This is an amazing quilt. Very beautiful. Would you mind sharing how you did this? I see the black patches seem to be every 5th square in a row, with their seams lined up instead of offset. Is that true? Are the blacks a bit larger than the colors? Can't quite figure out how you get them offset, but I love the effect, not to mention the ease of putting the rows together. Very clever! Thanks for posting. Regina

nicely done

I really like this, and I'm going to have to google how to make this because I can't figure out how you measured for the offset. It's beautiful!
|
I love it! so colorful!
|
Very, very pretty!
|
That's a gorgeous scrappy quilt! please share your pattern if possible :)
|
WOW!!! You are on a roll. Great job.
|
I did not have a pattern just made it up. What I did: sew 4 strips 2 1/2 in wide into strip set. Sub cut set into 3in sections. Sew 3 inch square of black onto end of each section. Sew these together alternating black at top then next at bottom and so forth till reach width you want quilt to be. Do same with next row then sew rows together. Only seams to match are where the black squares meet.

Wow, very colorful..

Very pretty quilt. I like the idea of off-setting the blocks.

Awesome quilt!

I love this Scrappy! Off-setting the blocks is so cool and makes the the stacked coins look just as they should! I will definitely add this one to my todo list. I hit the like button on this one!

Very nicely done. i like the idea of off-setting the squares. I have been hesitant in using my squares to do one of these quilts because I would have too match perfetly the seams or I would be mad! So I like the way you off-set them!!! Yeah!!!
|
Yep looks like stained glass in the picture, very pretty!

Beautiful love the first pic the way the sun shines through makes it look like stain glass.
|
I love it, it's gorgeous.
I have made a couple of quilts in my day by offsetting the squares. Gives it an interesting contrast and much easier than matching up every seam. |
Beautiful, great job and thank you for sharing, love the scrappies
Have a Blessed day Ellen |
