When in Florida last year I bought a jelly roll, well a half one really, I have been contemplating it ever since. I decided to join in as in a jelly roll race then cut 9in semi circle using a circular template. I then appliqued onto white background using a varigated thread and fancy stitched an echo of the semi circle using QAYG. I still need to find a toning fabric for one of the colours any one do a 2 in coloured border and then a white border and then bind and back. I gues this would be classed as modern quilting but its my first one that I haven't used a pattern for and just made it up as I wnet along. thanks for looking. Norma

I really like that.

Very fresh and modern. I like it. I think it's pretty ingenious to adventure out and create a pattern design of your own. I like doing that myself, though honestly, mine mostly were due to big mistakes of mine while following a pattern, so I just tell myself it was me designing a new pattern! Ha! It's smart of you to do the varigated thread, plus the echo stitching on this. I'd be interested in seeing the final outcome when you get it together. Thanks for sharing.
