Beautiful quilts! The landscape ones are outstanding!

ruthrings 11-06-2012 08:59 PM

I have said before: There should be a different name for these and for the things I make. They are the opposite ends of a quilting spectrum. . absolutely amazing.

I was so fortunate to be able to go to Houston and to a quilt show for the first time. It is just amazing. So much eye candy, such nice people, and so many products. The overall winner was a complete show stopper. Just magnificent. Thanks for sharing these pictures.

malega 11-07-2012 06:52 AM

All off them are so very beautiful, thanks for sharing.

Dianemarie 11-07-2012 08:52 AM

Thank you for sharing -- this quilting board is the best !
Always sharing !
I enjoy the quilt shows because I can't go to them very often. So its my inspiration ! Love the last photo of the country scene(plaids for the barn roofs-excellent idea) and enlarged tulips at the bottom.

Happy Quilting !

I have to agree with you Ruth. I won't live long enough to ever make a quilt that is even close to any of those shown. I do love them though!!!

sniktasemaj 11-07-2012 05:45 PM

Amazing what a simple hexagon and unique, intricate patterns become such beautiful work of art.

DianneK 11-08-2012 05:46 AM

thank so much...I'm into hexagons and just picked up some great layouts!!

solstice3 11-08-2012 06:15 AM

OMG, each one is spectacular

pinebeltquilter 11-08-2012 06:24 AM

These areso beautiful, when the hexagons came down, I thought they were the prettiest, then the land scapes, now I think they must have all been beautiful. I hope toget to go one year!

Grace MooreLinker 11-08-2012 06:51 AM

I like the bottom 2 best

Darlene516 11-08-2012 07:18 AM

I went too. It was fantastic and the quilts were amazing. I really blew my budget with the vendors but got some great fabric and ideas. I have a question though. I bought a charm pack of flannel squares that are perfect for a quick baby quilt. But how do I wash them without them getting out of shape? I've never worked with charm squares before. Any suggestions are appreciated.

msrosecooks 11-08-2012 07:48 AM

Wish I could have been there. Thanks for sharing the pics!

jamsbuying 11-08-2012 07:55 AM

Thanks for posting these. I spent two days attending and saw many beautiful quilts!

esardi 11-08-2012 08:00 AM

OMG How gorgeous these are. I'm new to quilting and I can't imagine ever doing such work.

jeanharville 11-08-2012 08:04 AM

I went to the Atlanta Quilt show about 3 weeks ago and was just breathless seeing these quilts up close. They were sent in from Germany, Australia, Alaska, and other far away places. Someone here said there should be a different name for what these art quilts are and what we usually make. I agree. I think these are "Fine Art" quilts.

bibi 11-08-2012 08:04 AM

Unbelieveable how anyone can create something so intricate and gorgeous. I am as usual at awe at quilters' craftmanships and creativity. Thanks for sharing these inspiring quilts.

knitsew 11-08-2012 08:59 AM

Thank you so very much

rosiewell 11-08-2012 09:11 AM

Beautiful quilts, I love the pictorial ones, I always wanted to make one but I know it wouldn't even come close to these! Thanks for sharing.

sewnut 11-08-2012 04:11 PM

Beautiful. I did not know you could do so many things with granny hexagons! And the pictorals are out of this world gorgeous. Makes me wish I could go.

I would not wash charm squares. Just make your quilt, then gently wash before gifting.

You really took great pictures! I took a bunch and then accidentally deleted almost all of them. I was so upset but your photos have really helped! Thank you so much for sharing them. I hope if you have more that you will post them also!
