Hello, thought I would share what I did this evening. The first two blocks are catch up from previous BoMs. The third I got inspired by the tulip... I found this on a Baltimore Album site, along with two other patterns that I would like to try.
Amish Diamond... both are vintage fabrics. My updated Baltimore Album block. This pattern is from 1846. Here is my appliqued Tulip. This was alot of fun. I loved the freezer paper method!!! |

Those are nice! I must admit though, my favorite picture is of Patches melting off of the living room table! (I love that you used the word melt! Not sliding, but melt! )

Nepthys~
I am so glad you shared the upclose pics! I'm still learning that, too. Keep it up! You're doing better than I am on the applique`. |
You did a great job, they will get easier and easier.
Whatcha doing tonight? :D |
I'm shooting for 5 blocks tonight. Calico Spools, a plain 9 patch, a block called Left and Right, Twist, and a houndstooth. I have the PERFECT fabric for the houndstooth :D
So stay tuned, I'll be zipping away tonight on the machine!!! ps... have I mentioned I LOVE quilter's cache patterns?!?! |
Nepthys you just crack me up LOL I wish that I had half of your energy and enthusiasm :D :D :D You go girl!!!! Can't wait to see them :D
Wow Nepthys, you just jumped straight into it didn't you, You go girl, looks like you're having a fab time, Love what you've done so far. Your puddy tat is soooo cute, she looks very similar to my tortice shell, Fluffy.
Nice blocks! Where do you find the energy! LOL
Meh... my machine went phooey on me last night for some reason... I may take the evening off and work on some cross stitch tonight because I was so frustrated I didn't get to finish my spool block. So I didn't get much done really. I'll work more Thursday night! I think I'm going to dedicate the Wed. and Sat night chat times to my stitching... I can do that without thinking :)
Don't tell Amma that you were listening to the radio, chatting with all of us in chat room (TWO different rooms), AND sewing fabrics together with wrong sides together....she'll want picture right now!!
Love ya Amma, really! |
Yeah, I think last night was just one of those nights where nothing was working. heh
I think your doing great! Love your Baltimore Album block. I also just love the freezer paper method, isn't it fun!! If it weren't for that so that I can machine applique, I wouldn't have any thing thats appliqued.

This is what I was working on when I don't sleep. Sorry the colours can out a bit on the yellow side because of the lighting. Now that I have tht borders on I have no idea on how to quilt it.
Wow, love your quilt top, I really like the fabrics you chose for the stained glass design :D :D :D
That's really exciting - beautiful work.
I tried the satin stitch but could not do it neatly so I changed to the blanket stitch and now I really enjoy doing it.
what a stunner. love the colors.
Nepthys, I really like your blocks & the melting kitty. :D I'm glad you showed the close up of the applique as it helped to see how it was done (I think). It looks like the hearts are all connected (like how you would do paper dolls all connected at the hands). So was it a pain to cut it out? Did you use some type of stabilizer? Spray starch or something? Very nice choice of material & the background makes it pop out. You're doing fine on the applique. Good job! What are your plans for all these blocks that you are creating? Are you going to do a sampler quilt or what?
