Some of you might have read a while back that my "return to quilting project" was a monster movie theme quilt for my best friend. Well she wanted me to enter the quilt in our county fair, so I did. Much to my surprise, I won a 5th place ribbon. I feel so honored. My family has a history with this fair, my father entered lots of his artwork when he was alive, and my mother won a blue ribbon for her apple pie, the year before she passed away.

Thank you all for the nice comments. There were over 92 entries, so I am pretty shocked and happy. I used to go and look and get very inspired at the show of the quilts at the fair. It feels like such an honor to have participated. I hope I have something to enter next year. We will have to see.

Over 92 entries! You SHOULD be proud! It is really a nice quilt. Creativity must run in your family's veins.
