Really cute! I love My Little Pony! Did you do the little flowers stitch?

Moonpi 12-20-2007 12:31 PM

That is sooo cute - the binding goes perfectly!

Yes I did the stitches on my machine... Those little flowers just made it so sweet. It is for a friend of mine who has 3 little ones, ages 4, 2, and 7 months. I am making one for each of them I will post the photos as I finish them. This is for the 2 year old little girl.

Thank-you for the GREAT idea to use blanket binding to spruce up a quilt. Sometimes we get so caught up in "traditional" methods that we don't see anything beyond. Great creativity. Cool quilt.

Dawn:
Your "Pony" quilt is darling and the binding really looks wonderful. I have used premade binding only once...about 40 years ago and I had trouble with it but looking at your application, I think I'm going to give it another try. I sewed the edges of the binding and it looked messy. I love that you put the flower stitch towards the center of the binding rather than the edge. Great job, great color coordination and that little 2 year old is gonna LOVE it! Thanks for sharing.
