For me to hit a pin with the longarm. Those flat head pins are a very good investment.

Please tell me it has not been sewn into the quilt.

It sure WAS! It's not there now. Had to clip thread and do a small repair. I think those flat heads are my new favorite thing. :-)

IT IS EVEN WORSE WHEN YOU SEW A PIN BETWEEN THE LAYERS. TOOK AN HOUR TO WORK IT THROUGH TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE.

Oh, my. Interesting. I am surprised it didn't break the needle or the pin head.

Ouch! Who da thought. It's a wonder that the needle went thru it and no broken needle. Afraid if I had a pin in between the layers, there would be a hole real soon!

Wow -- I didn't know you could sew pins into your quilt -- LOL -- Maybe we should inspect our quilts that we send out to longarmers a little closer, huh???

Oh geezz that's crazy Shelly, thanks for the photo not certain I would have believed it, sewn right to the quilt like that. :)

Very interesting. I too can't believe that your needle did not break.

I've done that do with those flat heads. I don't use them anymore. I do basting stitches instead.

I have quilted a pair of scissors into a quilt. Luckily, the hopping foot didn't hop high enough to hit the scissors to the needle. The machine just came to a screeching halt. Thank god it was near the edge of the quilt and could reach in to retrieve them! :)
