It looks very neat! Quilting it in half is a good idea and I think my next quilt I will try that too. How are you connecting your halves? I thought on mine I would sew the 2 top edges together, use the batting tape to connect the batt in the middle and then hand stitch the center seam in the back. I though about just sewing a seam in the batt but didn't want a bump on the back.
I guess our plans are similar! lol
I won't quilt the area where the top will get joined along the entire seam area, and my plan so far is to butt the batting edges and use a large, hand stitched zig zag to join the batting. I definitely wouldn't join the batting with a seam because of the added bulk! I'll hand-stitch the backing together and the quilting through that area will hold it firmly together. I've never heard of batting tape, so guess I should investigate it and maybe save myself a lot of extra work! Thanks for posting.
