I-Spy Rag Quilts - FOUR done!
4 Attachment(s)
My four Grandchildren will be getting I-Spy Rag quilts (lap size) for Christmas. These are my first attempts and I LOVE the way they turned out. I washed and dried them at the laundro-mat, thanks to suggestions from the Board! I did learn several things along the way...If I make any more, I will reinforce the joining seams, and double stitch around outside edge. I found I had to go back and do this as a couple places were starting to pull apart. Live and learn.

Great idea for rag quilts! Love your fabric and color choices. Thanks for the tips on reinforcing the joining seems and the outer seam. I've made three rag quilts but haven't heard of any problems with them yet. Maybe their owners are too polite to mention it. Thanks for sharing.

Cute!! I'm thinking of making a rag quilt, maybe using up some old jeans. I live in a hot climate, though, so I'm not sure if that would be too much.
But I have a question about rag quilts that I just can't get out of my brain. I know the entire purpose of them is to ravel and get all fluffy. But do they continue to ravel? Has anyone had a quilt just come apart from all this raveling? Or does it stabilize after awhile? |
