One of my WIPs...I'm calling it purple passion and the pictures don't really do justice to the colors. I couldn't take the picture completely face-on, so my border looks wonky on the right side, but it isn't. Interesting pattern and I think I might make it again. This is "Valentine Velvet" ... ugh it WAS velvet but I just couldn't work with it...from Cool Water Quilts designs by Lori Hein. It was a kit but I exchanged all velvet with other fabrics. I hope you like it :) Still have to quilt!

Yours is beautiful! I was at retreat with a lady making the velvet version... she had a few issues, but it did turn out lovely in the end as well. Thanks for sharing your version!

As to the velvet, I actually had all four corners of each block sewed on (after a big fight with the velvet on each block), and when I went to sew the sashing (which is a batik), if one didn't slide, the other slid! Even when I pinned it! I sat and pulled every stitch out of the velvet -- cause I loved the heart blocks! I'm glad I finished it.
Kudos to anyone who completed that quilt with the velvet! I'm a beginning quilter and I couldn't handle it. Maybe sometime in the next 20 years LOL :) |
