This is a pic of my first attempt at paper piecing... After watching a paper piecing tutorial and many seam ripping sessions I finally got it done. I think I would change the colors for another one as I didn't think the humming bird popped out like I would have liked. You all have been such an inspiration to me and I can't wait to get on line every day to see the beautiful creations. I would love to comment on them all, but there wouldn't be enough time to quilt! Know that each post is so very much appreciated...

Very, very nice job for 1st time!! I do love PP & found a lot of blocks online. It just takes a lot of trial & error. I love to do block in PP. After seeing one I like, I'll try to figure out how it could be PP & do my own template.
I at 1st used copy paper but found online some real thin paper just for the purpose. Works great in making copies.  |
Very good job for your first effort!!! When I first did PP, it took a LOT of ripping out.
Once I figured out it is like re-learning how to dress yourself, inside out, upside down and backwards, it is Soooo much fun! |
I like your hummingbird. I need to try paper piecing soon too.

Oooooh, very nice! I would like to attempt paper piecing.
Yours looks perfect...great job. |
That turned out great.
I must be pp-ing challenged because I just can't do it even though I've tried and tried. lol |
I love paper piecing! It required making my mind all over again, but hubby coached me through it along with my laptop, and once I "got it" I've been thrilled with using it for small quilts. Don't know if I'd ever use it for a regular size quilt, but maybe for the more complicated parts.
If you're just starting to PP, find a few really good tutorials online and go for it. You'll be glad you did, once you get through the initial frustration! |
PPing is fun once you get the hang of it.
Nice job on your wall hanging! |
