I seriously doubt she used Used coffee filter......new, clean, fresh ones. the quilt is awesome...great piece of art

Why not use the used ones? If you let them dry initially and then rinse them and dry them again they should be fine. The creative soul in me sees the possibilities. And if you used some food color dye as someone suggested or fabric dye even during the second drying phase this could get really really interesting! =) As far as washing it..I would say no. Its obvious to me that its an art piece. I would love to see it in person to awe over it and look at its every detail. =)

I see this was originally posted in May of '08. Has anyone tried this. Can you tell me if there are more pictures on the Board? This is so lovely, I have got to give it a try!

Some one on here earlier asked if others (like her) go away from quilt shows frustrated and not wanting to sew anything. This very thing is why alot of us go. To see the things people think up is amazing. You see a project and it gets your mind wondering like the ones posting here now. You start thinking of all the ways you could use this idea and expand on it; like the food coloring or dyes idea; that would be great. I love seeing what others come up with and they show us there are plenty of non-conventional ways to make quilts. This is a great quilt.
