I found an online group that is dedicated to starting something new every month. Finishing doesn't matter, it's all about starting something new and having fun. This was so what I needed to find!!!
I've been holding myself back from starting a new project with some fat quarters I had of Sakura Park. I've been just itching to use it but there was always something else that needed doing. Yesterday I set myself free to play!!! As the fabrics are so delicate and pretty, I decided to do a simple 9 patch. I used light pink grunge for the alternating squares in the 9 patch block. I had planned on using a light cream grunge for the alternating blocks but once I had it up on the wall the cream turned yellow. So a trip to the quilt shop is in order to find the perfect fabric for the alternating blocks. Wahoo! |
Beautiful fabric and a perfect setting to showcase them. Enjoy your new found freedom!:)
|
Looks like fun to me !! Does your Block Butler stay on the wall or do you have to use push pins to keep it up? Ours at work keeps falling off the wall, we finally put some thumb tacks in it ..... lol
|
Your fabrics are so pretty, and you have a great project going! Hope you have lots of fun with your new-found group! :)
|
Thanks for looking!
Auntie B, it stays where it is, there are legs on the back (like tent pole legs) so I can use it out in the middle of the room if I want, however, we live in a mobile home so space (especially width size) is tight. It is leaning ever so slightly against the wall, held in place by my sewing table legs. So far it works. |
You know............ a simple white or tone on tone white would look lovely............
|
How fun, beautiful fabric!!!
|
I love that line of fabric!! Have been eye balling it, ever since the precuts came out. Love what your doing with it!!

that is so light and "springy" looking, I love it. It makes you want the flowers to hurry and start blooming.

I love your colors. Keep sewing and quilting!

Love the colors. What about a very soft green for the alternate blocks, or a soft pink. A green border along with a pink border. Looking forward to see the finished quilt.

Beautiful start on your quilt and I love the fabrics. But your first couple of sentences are what really caught my attention! Start something new every month! Finishing doesn't matter! Just have fun! That's me! That's me! I have to find that group. I need someone to be in cahoots with so I don't feel so guilty! LOL
