Well I've just put the binding on my latest quilt! Malc bought me the jelly roll on holiday so I've made a little quilt for me, to keep the cold out while I'm watching TV. I'm so sick of the price of gas going up that I decided that instead of keeping the heating on, we'll have warm quilts and an extra sweater on this year. lol! (and maybe a tot of whisky) I shall probably be alcoholic by New Years Eve ! lol!

Karen...that is boootiful gal!!!! I love how you have quilted it too!!, is it difficult to braid like that, its on my every growing 'to do' list??

AND the way the weather has been this summer in the U.K. you probably need it right now don't you in the evenings

reneebobby 08-28-2008 07:31 AM

WOw that turned out nice.

beachlady 08-28-2008 07:39 AM

I love it Karen. Love the colors and the braid pattern.

Thanks girls....Izy it 's a really easy one to follow (it would have to be for me!) But its made easier because the jelly rolls are all the same width so you've only got one cut to make, and thats across the strip.

Moonpi 08-28-2008 08:34 AM

What sweet, soft colors! I'm sure it (and maybe a drop of the whiskey) will keep you warm and happy!

shellyp 08-28-2008 08:42 AM

I can feel the warmth from it already! It's very pretty.

bj 08-28-2008 08:55 AM

Very pretty! I like a lot!

Elizabeth A. 08-28-2008 09:13 AM

So pretty, what did you use for the batting? I just love how puffy it is.

Karenmay 08-28-2008 09:40 AM

I just used some light weight wadding Elizabeth. I usually just back them with fleece (no wadding) but this time I wanted a bit of extra warmth. Seems like the older I get the more I feel the cold!

Oooh nice Karenmay! The braid is also on my 'list' for one-of-these-days. I love the way you quilted it too, it added another geometrical dimension (hmmm, my day for big words?) to the quilt. I bet that & the tot will keep you toasty this winter! :D:D:D

Harmony 08-28-2008 01:07 PM

Great use of a jelly roll! I'll bet it went together pretty quickly! Love the pattern, love the fabrics--I can just picture you sitting there cuddled up in your quilt with a whiskey, watching the telly!

Oh Karen, i just love your jelly roll quilt!!! I am sooo going to have to try a french braid :) :) :)

hmmm, did you do it on foundation fabric, or just wing it? lol Are your strips the same length on each side of your braid, i guess they would be...hmmm, what length strips did you use Karen? It looks so nice :)
