I was given this fabric, which I think is ugly so I cut it up to make a lap size kalidascope quilt. There was enough of the original fabric to put on the back. This is my first using this pattern. It will be a gift to someone!! :)

lynnie 09-27-2012 12:20 PM

Lovely, if its still ugly, you havenot cut it small enough.
this ia a stunning quilt.

SuzyQ 09-27-2012 12:24 PM

Looks good! Is the second pic the same fabric? What a difference the pattern made, you don't even recognize the fabric.

KSellers 09-27-2012 12:26 PM

I love this quilt -- does it make you kinda want to keep it??

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 09-27-2012 12:29 PM

I don't much like kaliedescopes, but I really like that one. It looks more like the images in children's toys and I really like it with the black spacers. What a great save on your ugly fabric!

BettyJean 09-27-2012 12:38 PM

Thats cool!

Tartan 09-27-2012 12:42 PM

Love it! Isn't it great how a kaleidoscope pattern or OBW can take a strange fabric into something wonderful?

Maggiemay 09-27-2012 12:47 PM

Perfect use for that fabric! Your quilt turned out great!

jansquiltn 09-27-2012 02:18 PM

Much better all cut up. You did it justice. Way to use something that would have sat for a long time.

busy fingers 09-27-2012 02:24 PM

DebbE 09-27-2012 05:39 PM

The old expression "making a silk purse out of a sows ear" fits -- you took an ugly piece of fabric and turned it into a work of art! Great job!

dawayesmeeth 09-27-2012 09:32 PM

Isn't it great what happens when you create a kaleidoscope with a bold, odd print. It turned out lovely.

catladyquilts 09-28-2012 04:22 AM
