This is the last top I am making (this week) for my friend opening a quilt shop. I am taking a week off from work this week and while we are building a patio, I still hope to do some personal sewing. This quilt was made using the Jelly Roll race method, and I added a 2 1/2" square of a white on white to each strip. That first long seam is a doozy! But it goes together really fast!

I love the idea of using a contrasting color square with the strips. It makes the other color pop and gives it some more pattern to look at (if that makes sense). Plus red is my favorite color. :) I'm going to have to try this!

I like the outcome of this method better than the original pattern. Those little white squares really make a difference!

Those white on white blocks make it so interesting! I like this much better than the standard Jelly Roll Race quilts! Beautiful, and thanks for the inspiration.
