Latest Customer Quilt off the Frame

1 Attachment(s)
Paula from my local quilt guild had me quilt her latest quilt. After delivery it, she informed me that she's entering it in our local quilt show. I'm glad she told me after the fact and not before.

I'm heading off to Roads to California next week and in search of lots of inspiration.

The quilting is so perfect. How do you do that? I am sure you used a ruler but still... Can you tell me how long you have been doing this? Have you taken any/many classes on longarm quilting? I don't think I will ever be that good. Straight lines are so much harder than wavy and diagonal lines are really the pits.

chermitch 01-15-2012 03:56 PM

What a wonderful quilt and quilting "job". The colors are so peaceful and your quilting accentuates the pattern instead of fighting with it! :o

lollygagging 01-15-2012 07:44 PM

Your quilting enhanced the simplicity of this quilt. I really like the color scheme and the layout. Thanks for sharing.

dmyers 01-16-2012 06:58 AM

Thank you all for the wonderful comments...means a lot to me!

Hi A,
To make the diamond sashing I measured every 1" and that's where you want your needle to hit using a ruler. My Innova was delivered march '11 and I didn't start freehand till july '11 to complete quilts. Charisma from the board was kind enough to let me quilt some her tops to get my feet wet and give me practice. I haven't taken any LA classes...yet! When I bought my machine a 3 day training class was given for maintenance and how to use the machine..wonderful class. Please don't get discouraged...i'm going to PM you!
