OK!! After taking all the wonderful advice you guys offered, I decided to go with the red scattered. Also, I added another row making it 8x10, but the pattern is even. This is the largest quilt I've done thus far and now that it's up on the design wall I'm scared! haha! Going to get red inner border to go with my pink floral outer border. I'm pretty pleased. I'm going to mess with the blocks a little more, ie: play with the pattern placements, but other than that I am going to try to quit being ocd and just go with it.
Looks great, but I have a question before you begin quilting - as we are looking at this on the screen, I noticed on the bottom left that one strip with a darker red block is going at a different diagonal direction from the others - is this the way it is meant to be? I just don't want you to get going really good, and quilt this and it may be in the wrong place. Please don't think I am being critical, but I did notice this. Hope you don't mind my telling you about it. |
You guys are so great! What a confidence booster!! I have definitely turned the bottom block. Hopefully finishing the rows tomorrow and off to get the border! Cant wait, this is such an exciting point! Lol!

I did not comment on your previous post but wanted to say your latest layout looks great and so glad you fixed that block on the bottom. I am in the process of making this same quilt (Buckeye Beauty). Mine is all in browns, tans, blacks and grays. I have half my blocks done. Hope mine ends up looking as good as yours.
