Log Cabin Snake River

1 Attachment(s)
I just finished making the Snake River Quilt from Judy Martins Log Cabin Quilt Book.It was the moxt challenging project I have ever done. I always wanted a black and white quilt so I combined both and made the attached quilt top. I haven't quilted it as yet, that will be another challenge for me. Hope you like it. There is one obvious mistake that I will correct before the quilting is done.
Thanks for looking.

Oh I love it. This pattern is at the top of my to do list. Bought up all my red fat quarters this past July. Yours is beautiful!!

Gorgeous! It is a challenging pattern but it is worth it when it looks like your quilt top when completed.

You did a great job on this quilt. It is lovely. I made one and you are right, it is quite a challenge. I think I figured about 4,620 pieces. Good job.

Wow! This is a great quilt! I have never liked doing log cabins but I may give this one a try plus, I really love Judy Martin's style.

Wow, that is beautiful, admire you for the time spent on that quilt, I have the book but I bought for a simple quilt in it.

DianneK 10-24-2012 04:30 AM

How beautiful..I have blacks, whites and bright green....maybe.........!!!!!!!!!!

Diane007 10-24-2012 05:44 AM

wow really nice

kbonafede 10-24-2012 05:48 AM

Oh! Oh! Oh! -- Your piecing is incredible and the quilt is absolutely beautiful. You can take a bow! Are you going to quilt it yourself? What machine are you going to use to quilt it, or are you going to hand quilt it? However it is quilted, it is very very pretty. We can feel the intensity of work put into making this quilt top. Well done!!

Never would have occurred to me to do this in Black and white.. but its very dramatic! I have been accumulating fabrics for my own version. Thanks for the inspiration.

That is a beautiful log cabin pattern. I love your design. I'm amazed at how many ways a log cabin can be made to look completely different. Please post after it is quilted!

QUILTNMO 10-24-2012 10:56 AM

very nice!!!

Jingle 10-24-2012 11:26 AM

Beautiful quilt, looks very challenging.

rusty quilter 10-24-2012 02:13 PM

Funny thing--I just bought that book last week for that pattern. Once I looked at all of the detailed cutting--decided to put it on the back shelf. How challenging is "challenging" if you were to estimate the hours put into piecing the top?

Lilrain 10-24-2012 02:20 PM

Wow, that is some project. You did a great job. My son would love that quilt

Happy Tails 10-25-2012 03:39 AM

Your quilt is beautiful!!! I bought the book but I don't know, it looks way to hard for me....I struggle with everything I do pertaintaing to quilting as it is, I would b afraid I'd end up in the nuthouse

zazulka 10-25-2012 03:52 AM

I love black and white, I also love black and red. This is a great means of combining the 3 colors, and using one of my favorite patterns. I'm working on a log cabin now. Guess I'll have to get the pattern and make one for myself. Keep up the good work.
As a side note, my nickname is ladybug (black and red). Once again, love your quilt.

solstice3 10-25-2012 05:27 AM
