My first Log Cabin pattern. Wall hanging top is done, now to sandwich it and quilt it.
I may put a border or two on it before I quilt it. Any suggestions for color to use?

It's also the first quilting project that "Suzy Q" (my new baby , sewing machine)worked on. I had started it on my other machine and finished it on Suzy Q. She works GREAT!

Love the needle threader feature!

Great job- it's beautiful. Maybe a red border?

beautiful.

Looks nice! I think a thin red border, wider blue border and red binding would be great!

Looks great. I am currently working on my first log cabin, however it will be a little bigger and much much scrappier.
I like katier's idea!

I agree. A red border would look great and maybe A wider border with black and the cream together and then red binding. You did a wonderful job on this, I really love the colors too.

I would go with the lighter color border then a red one in a larger strip.. its very pretty. I have yet to do a log cabin.. did you find it hard? I love your colors. Thanks for showing this one off!

It wasn't as hard as you may think. Just need to pay attention to the placement of light/dark strips. My first attempt had them going the wrong direction and I had to start over. (Luckily only had three strips done on 4 blocks. If you do them with the running stitching (one right after the other) it goes pretty fast.

I think a small red border followed by a larger blue border

I have always loved the black and white log cabins. Yours is very nice. My favorites I have seen at quilt shows are the borders made with a vining applique around them. It reminds me of the homes of long ago with the vines climbing them and breaks up the linear/ridgid feel a log cabin has to it.
