Lone Star in Progress....

I'm putting together this Lone Star to try my hand at hand quilting. Everything is laying nice and flat so far, I've been really careful. I plan the background to be a white-on-white, and haven't completely decided on borders yet. Thanks for looking!

The colors are more "springy" than in the pics, what looks peach is a soft pink, etc.

Being a Texan, the Lone Star is one of my favorites, anyhow. Good job! Mine always pooch in the middle.
Very cheery and happy colors, too!

Very pretty so far! Nice work!

Beautiful..

You are doing a fine job. Since you want a name, how about Texas Spring? (or spring in Bethlehem, since another name for that pattern is the Star of Bethlehem.)

This is so beautiful

irishrose 03-11-2012 07:46 PM

How wonderful that spring is coming to the quilt board. It looks good - both in color and workmanship.

Dandish 03-11-2012 07:53 PM

Thanks all! QM, I think Texas Spring is a great name.

Toto's Mom - I made one many years ago when I first started quiltmaking - I had a about a D-cup bulge in the middle! I had no idea back then what I had dove into, didn't understand bias or set in seams...lol. Hopefully this time with more knowledge and experience it'll be better!

You are doing a great job. Will you also hand quilt the star?
Colors are so soothing

TacoMama 03-11-2012 09:16 PM

I love the Lone Star and you have done a wonderful job! Keep up the good work!

Dandish 03-11-2012 09:28 PM

Yes, that's the plan, hand quilting. I haven't done much hand quilting, almost none actually, I've always machine quilted. I can't wait to get this one into my hoop/stand. I have been collecting thimbles...;)

Great job! I love the lone star! I have one sitting here to finish. It has problems and I haven't had time to deal with it!

Dianemarie 03-12-2012 06:44 AM

Oh I love the clarification of the colors; looks old fashion to me. Are you doing an unbleached muslin or light color for the background. Oh so pretty ! Please post when finished the background.

Happy quilting ~

That will be beautiful when done!
