This is probably one of my oldest UFO's. I pieced most of it 10 years ago. It's got a lot of problems, but it's finally done. One major fault is that I used a couple of different black fabrics as I had thought black was black. Not true, of course. You live and learn. So, if you look closely the blacks aren't the same throughout. Also, some of the points aren't the best. But I was a newer quilter when I started it. I finally got the black batting I've been forgetting to buy over the years. I FMQ all over it in black thread on the top and bottom. The back fabric is a metallic blue polka dot. It's going in the wash today to get "shrunk".

Too cute!

I think it looks fabulous and very colorful. You did a nice job.
I REALLY like this quilt.
turned out great and my DD has 6 furbabies that are spoilt rotten! :XD:
Good for you! I'd love to know what it would feel like to finally finish some of my OLD projects...yes, I've got some older than this one...ouch! I love those cats...in fact, I think I've got that book somewhere! You did a great job! Thanks for sharing!
Looks great! I have this pattern but haven't done anything with it yet!
Thanks for the tip about the blacks! |
Cute!! And doesn't it feel great to have it finished???
Very cute
Good work  |
Ohhh that is so cute and once it's shrunk, nothing will matter except it's done. What a wonderful quilt...
I love it!!! :) :)
I looks great to me. I need someone to teach me how to do the freehand quilting. The back of mine doesn't look right so I haven't attempted to do it on a realy quilt yet.
Thanks, it does feel good to have it done. I had forgotten how long FMQ took, as it's been a while... For this large, lap size quilt I'd say it was a good 4 hours of quilting and LOTS of thread. I think I went through a whole large size Mettler spool of thread for just the FMQ. That doesn't count the piecing.

Love it! You did a great job on it!

This has always been one of my favorite patterns (it's on my someday list) and I like your version very much. You know what, if your blacks don't match they are "unique" and all cat owners will tell you each cat is unique, so you have a perfect blend. Congratulations on finishing - it was worth the wait.
What a gorgeous kitty quilt!!! It would look so lovely at the foot of my bed  :D
I love your CAT quilt and I'm a cat lover also!
i think this is super and a good representation of the cat world! isn't that "finished" word such a relief!
Kudos to you for finishing it! So adorable and the colors are really nice.
Wonderful quilt. I especially love the intertwined tails!

It's a pattern from this book http://www.amazon.com/Cats-Meow-Purr.../dp/1564770613 Several of the quilts are dogs too. |

Well, all I had to do was read all the replies and I would have an answer! lol
Anyway, your quilt is very cute. I especially love the entwined tails! |
