This is the first quilt I ever did. I made it 3 years ago. Very basic, easy pattern. But I loved the fabric and the backing is gorgious! I asked my husband to come up with a way to hang it on the wall for me. We have it hanging on the wall at the front door for everyone to see when they first walk in our house!

I looks so pretty there, I catch myself looking at it hahaha...I know, I am a dork

Very nice! And nothing wrong with admiring your own work!

quiltinggirl 09-29-2010 03:52 PM

I love your quilt and the hanger is awesome! Just a thought, maybe you could get your husband to make a few and offer to sell them here to us board members. ;-)

You are anything but a dork you have made something to be proud of and so has your husband when he made that beautiful hanger for you. I always have something I make at the entrance and now all my friends can't wait to check it out.I bet seeing this quilt gives everyone a homey, welcome feeling! Very nice work.

When you feel that way about a quilt, you know you have done great. Thats why we quilt, to get that feeling of awe when we finish something beautiful. Keep it going, fill your home with beauty.

quiltluvr 09-29-2010 04:52 PM

What a way to greet yourself home. Really nice. Your hubby did an awesome job on the hanger too!

T-Bones mom 09-29-2010 05:03 PM

Your husbands hanger is as beautiful as your quilt is. I would admire it too. Nice job both of you. (I am showing the hanger to my husband. Think he will get the hint?)

What a sweetie pie your DH is! And I love the quilt! Silly, you are not a dork!

bjnicholson 09-29-2010 05:21 PM

There're no dorks in quilting! Only quilters admiring their beautiful handiwork! Good job on the quilt and I like the hanger.

Great quilt and great hanger,Well done to both of you.

trif 09-29-2010 09:50 PM

Yes both are beautiful, I think you should get yourself a cup of coffee or tea, pull up a chair and really enjoy the wonderful work you did. :)

SueDor 09-30-2010 02:27 AM

He did a great job. Is the quilt on a sleeve or is it attached in a different way?

Wendys Quilts 09-30-2010 02:41 AM

Thank you ladies! You have put a smile on my face and especially my husband's. He is considering making a few and maybe sell them...if there were enough people interested.

SueDor, the quilt is not hanging on a sleeve. It is pressed between two boards. and the three screws are tightened to hold the two boards together.

grammyp 09-30-2010 05:59 AM

He does great work. There may be a future in making hangers for him.

trif 09-30-2010 06:40 AM

I would be interested in the hanger, maybe he can figure out a price and give us an idea and he can make them when ordered. Just an suggestion.

charismah 09-30-2010 07:24 AM

great job!

Thanks for the answer, I like that way. I am not particular happy with a quilting sleeve. I wish I could order one but I have no place in this house to hang something up, unless I take down pictures, and I don't think I want to do that.
Nice job!

mountain-moma 09-30-2010 08:54 AM

Very Beautiful hubby's a keeper for sure(:)

nwm50 09-30-2010 08:57 AM
