I found the parents of the intended recipient of this lost quilt. It was made by a 9 year old girl for a relative's baby. It was sent from South Dakota to Tennessee. It was lost in the mail and ended up in Georgia. With no shipping info attached to the quilt, I posted it on the lost quilt site. Someone saw it that knew about the quilt not reaching it's destination. She notified the lost quilt site with the father's name. I googled it and called them today! They were so happy, and needless to say, so am I! The name, birth date{just last Aug} and weight, as well as embroidered decorations were all identified by the woman that sent the email, along with the father's name and address. I will be sending it this week, insured with tracking and an extra label on the quilt with mailing info on it also. It will be something that can easily be removed by the new owner, but will not fall off with rough handling in the mail.

Once was lost, but now is found!

So glad you tracked down the owner. You are a special person to take the time and effort.

How wonderful that you took the time to find out who owned it ...

Wow! I'm glad you tracked it down. And I'm a bit embarassed that a 9 year old can make a quilt so much better than I can!

I'm so glad that it found a nice quilter who will pass it back to the owner, who can get it to the intended recipient. Great story.

Wow, first of all a 9 year old did that quilt! Wow!
What a great job.

Second, what are the chances of someone finding that quilt. I would never know how to find the owner.

Thank goodness for your persistence. That child must have been very proud of the quilt only to have it lost.

Thank goodness all is well.
