man's quilt - cheaper by the dozen
2 Attachment(s)
Our minister's 10 year anniversary with our congregation was this month. I made him a hunting/fishing quilt since those are passions of his. This quilt spend a couple of months in Time Out because I couldn't get the tension right in my FMQ and had birds nests on the back that took forever to rip out. Sigh.
Pattern - Cheaper By the Dozen (a FQ pattern). I added the blue sashing since the blocks seemed too busy to put together without it. I wish I could remember what web site had the fabric - I'd order it again! |
Great colour choices, especially the blue sashings. Love it.
Oooooh! This is fantastic! The sashing really works well to calm the quilt.
That's a fine job.

Great work!!!
That is very nice, you did a great job.
This looks like it could make a good 'guy' quilt... but is it possible to see a better pic of it to view the entire quilt please?
Next time, grab some extra fabric and batting to experiment with tension until u get it right. Then you can spend alot less time with the seam ripper. Great quilt.
Beautiful, a great man's quilt.
Very handsome quilt, great fabrics and colors.
great job!!!!!
For some reason those are the only pics I have. Usually I lay the entire thing out and take a picture, but didn't do that this time. Sorry 'bout that. This pattern has 2 blocks - you cut 12 fat quarters into 6 rectangles each and make two blocks. Then you turn those blocks as needed. So ... once you've seen those two blocks, you've basically seen it all.
Here's a post I did when I first started working on it. The borders can be seen here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...c-t188446.html |
It looks like some of the fabrics might be from the following line. (I used these in a quilt.)

He'll love it! I am finding out as I make more quilts that I like to put the sashing In between squares so it makes it look calmer and less busy

Very Nice... our Pastor was a Lady and she loved the Cleveland Browns.. The ladies surprised her one Sunday with the Quilt Draped over her Pulpit ....She had the Biggest Grin on her face when she saw it... They made it to fit her queen bed. She Kicked off the Sermon that Day with a Foot Ball Yell..."Go Browns"
