well, sort of.
My father in law asked me yesterday to make a quilt for his mother, who was recently placed in a home and is having a little bit of trouble adjusting. She now has a single bed, and her old bedding does not fit in the new room. Her room at her house was in blues and greens, and I was asked to come up with a design that had a mariner's compass in the colours that she had before, to make her feel more comfortable. Anyway, so I started this morning, and I have the center done. I am basing the rest of the quilt sort of on this design: http://www.amishcountrylanes.com/acq...434/Front1.jpg and this is what I have so far, I just thought I would share my progress as I go along. |

Your Mariners Compass is beautiful. The pattern is also beautiful. Can't wait to see it finished. She is going to love it.

Like all your work, it is gorgeous and I am sure the "mom" will love it!
|
Melanie, that is beautiful!! You do such good work!!
|
Beautiful. Look forward to watching this grow.
|
Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! Is it paper pieced?
|
Yes, it's paper pieced (even though my seams don't match up that well, don't look too close!). I have a Mariner's compass book, and they show you how to draft your patterns for pp.
Thanks everyone for the compliments. I'm taking a bit of a break right now because I have a headache, but I'll be jumping back into it as soon as this Tylenol kicks in :) |
Wow you work fast! That is going to be beautiful!!!
