Mariner's compass quilt

1 Attachment(s)
I just finished the last panel for a mariner's compass quilt that I was commisoned to make for a friend. I was scared to death - didn't know if I could possibly do it - I have never paper-pieced until this quilt - keep in mind I have only been quilting for about 2 yrs. Please be kind.
With that said- I am super happy how its turning out - I haven't sewn the segments together - tomorrow I am picking out the background fabric. Anybody have ideas about the background fabric - I am thinking the dark blue but I am open to suggestion.

Otis, it is fantastic! Audition some different colors for your background...maybe black would make it pop!! :)
Please show again, after you decide!

Marvelous. (Yours is much better than my first, which a dying friend requested.)

I think a dark blue would go better with it, since you already have blue in it.

It looks great! I like the idea of navy blue.

It's beautiful! I haven't learned curved piecing yet because I'm a scaredy cat. Yours might just look fabulous on white!

You did a great job and especially since you are only quilting for a couple years.

You did a great job. Yes, I think dark blue would be a perfect background.
