I am making my daughter a quilt in memory of her dog Ted Mosby that she had to have put to sleep earlier this year. I printed out pictures and got the back figured out but need to get an idea about the pattern to use. I am not an experienced quilter. Can't get pictures to print will try agin in a minute

Very thoughtful idea, she will love it.

Maybe a Hole in the Barn Door block would work with the pictures being the center of the block. Or maybe a sampler of other similar blocks that have a center where a picture could be used--like Ohio Star, Shoofly, etc.

Snoball blocks make a great memory quilt!!
|
I like snowball but any one would be wonderful!
|
Maybe an attic windows? Whatever you do your daughter will love it!!

I put the pictures on muslin and cut them large because I didn't know what size blocks i would be doing, they can be cut down.

If it were me, I would frame the photos with something like 'courthouse steps' because it's easy, (& I know how to do it). They will frame each individual photo like a picture frame so they stand out. The fleece backing you have is perfect! Just cut your blocks all the same size, add the frames, & then sew them together. I just made my own design recently because I had some nice focus fabric that I wanted to use. I used black kona cotton & it turned out really nice.

How about a picture of the dog with a poem type note also. I have the wording if you would like, just PM me. Give my sympathies to your daughter on the loss of her fur baby, I know it's very hard.
