Memory quilt

I made two memory quilts for twin children made with colorful clothing from their grandmothers clothing that lost her battle to cancer. One was with tan background an one with white

What a great idea - very sweet!

Beautiful gift for the twins. You've done a wonderful deed and a wonderful job on the sewing, too; the white lines really set off the colorful blocks nicely.
May I ask if there's a name for that design? |
What a wonderful way to treasure something so important! Great job!

|

Awesome quilt!

I didn't use a pattern. I just took a square and cut it at a diagonal and mixed them up and put smashing in between. I liked the white smashing vs the tan sashing I did for the second. But they both turned out beautiful because of the bright colors. The only truly hard part was using the knits with cottons. It made sewing it a challenge. But the end result was worth it and the kids loved them. I made them each a memory bear as well with some velour robes from their grandmother as well. She was a fun and special friend and it was a joy to be able to do this for her grandchildren b I felt like she was in the room with me and smiling and excited.

Very special blanket for two very special children! Great way for them to remember their grandmother!
