Mini scrappy quilt finished

3 Attachment(s)
I made this little 18"sq wall hanging for Rhonda's 4th Wall Hanging Swap. We have till October to get it finished and since I had some time I got it done. The center is made from those cut off corners we all get when adding triangles to corner blocks. Each one is a tad over 1.25"sq.
enjoy.

Really cute.....love the idea for using up those cut offs that I also can't bring myself to throw away. The birds around the center design are fabulous!

Nice little quilt! Your birdies are darling, and I love the embroidered saying on the binding. I never remember to do that until it's too late.

Such a cute idea quilting in the little birds. I must sit down and practice the FMQ more.

Thank you for showing this quilt, I just happen to have about 100 of those little triangles in browns/beige that I cut off from my DGS quilt. I was not sure what to do with them, now I do know. Your wall hanging is so pretty.

I love mini"s - and what a fantastic job. Great quilt!

Made for an interesting little mini and a fascinating addition with the birdies.

MAK'58 08-29-2013 06:22 AM

All quilts and other crafted items shown on the board are always great, and I love and admire all of them. However, for some reason, this one needs to be mine. It is so cute with the birds. The design and colors you have used just say "happy" to me, and make me smile. Like the quote on the bottom. We all need sunshine in our houses, and a good belly laugh does good for the heart and soul. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I did starch them first, used Fine thread, pressed the seams open and then trimmed the seams to 1/8" and repressed them to remove bulk.

It was fun to try to use up the small scraps and have this Wall hanging as a result.

Very nice. Love the pattern!

MaryMo 08-29-2013 01:12 PM

Love your quilt! Thanks for the hints on making those little quilts .... my 1/4" seams look huge when I am trying to put pieces together. I starch and press frequently when making little projects. I would have difficulty sharing this one in a swap.

Very cute!

Thank you everyone for liking the mini quilt. It was fun to make and I am really getting into small quilts after joining
Rhonda's Wall hanging Swaps. She is up the 4th swap and I am joining for the second time. It is a lot of fun.
Thanks again.

You must be one patient person to deal with such small pieces!
