I love your mittens! It looks like they're made partly from felted wool sweaters and partly from non-felted sweater cuffs, am I correct? I think I vaguely remember the first ones you posted, but I could be wrong. If it wasn't so late, I'd look for more pics, but since I'm typing with my eyes closed, I think I'd better go to bed. (I did have my eyes open when I looked at the pics. :-D )

Edit to say: Duh! (Rolling eyes at myself.) Amazing how easy it was to find the rest of the mittens once my eyes were open. I really do like all of them.

They posted the instructions link on "You Tube" on the very first thread. Remember?? That man was funny and the other one of the little girl was astounding that she was so professional on camera.

Look great:thumbup: I just bought a pair for DD and DDIL for Christmas; they had fleece linings as well--kinda pricey, too. What was I thinking

I like your mittens. Where can I find the pattern? I tried facebook and got a little girl showing her's, but they were long skinny ones. I am overrun with wool felt so need some uses for it.

do you BUY wool felt or do it yourself

gmcsewer 12-21-2009 01:03 PM

I felt it all myself from old sweaters or woolen garments. Friends even give me their old sweaters which have holes in them. It all felts differently and some you cannot use, either it is too stiff or too limp to work with. I haven't tried dying any of it, but saw a tutorial on dying by using a gallon glass jar, so may try some small pieces.

Thanks I typed in felted wool mittens and think it is the same as yours. It looks like you added ribbing to the bottoms for an extra nice touch.
