Here are a few more of my projects..again, hope this works.

This one I made from a yard of a French cotton I bought and wanted something special from it.

This is an old Kansas City Star pattern I found called Twolips.. My first major applique attempt.. I have bunches of them made..only about 8 left to stitch, and everyone is different.

This is one of my all time favorite patterns.. it's a double bed sized quilt top. Every butterfly is a different print.. A great quilt to make from fat quarters.

Really nice quilts. Love the last one!

RedGarnet222 04-02-2009 09:28 PM

Whoa! That last project is just wonderful! I love the use of the green and red throughout. I can't stop staring at the different blocks to see which they are. Way nice , Tippy.

Tippy 04-02-2009 09:40 PM

Thanks Red... I have grown to love that one more as time goes on.. it's been a work in progress for a few years, I bought the pansy print that it's "organized" around then it grew from there. Just got the striped stripping fabric here and cut the strips, then found I'd cut them too short...YIKES.. went to the shop and luckily they had 1 yard of fabric left, so I snapped it up. That'll teach me. Now I am thinking I'll dig in the stash boxes to see if there's any pansy fabric left as I wish I had 3 more blocks and would like to make it a twin size. I also have some sampler blocks of an oriental print somewhere...hmmm, wonder where those are???

Kyiav10 04-02-2009 09:46 PM

Love the two lips project. Very colourful, and the first one with the black background is impressive. What are the dimensions of that one?

It's about 29" square Teresa... I would love to have made it bigger, but I had limited yardage and was sort of making it up as I went. A friend had a quilt shop and it was a remnant of an expensive imported French cotton she had.. Of course I fell in love with it, and I just kind of made it up as I went.

The butterfly quilt was a pattern from a folder I bought in a friend's quilt shop. sorry I can't remember the source, but it was the mid 80's.. I have also seen it in another book since.. I'll see if I can find it and give you more exact source material.. it's really easy and goes quickly. As I said the upper wings are cut from a fat quarter. I remember when I cut it out I would get 1 set of upper wings and 2 bow ties from 1 fat quarter.

littlehud 04-03-2009 06:37 PM

Oh Tippy, thank you so much for this pattern!!

My mom made me a quilt -- almost like this -- when I was little. Don't know what happened to it

Mom used a blue background for the butterflies.

Tippy 04-12-2009 10:58 PM

I'm so happy I could find it for you.. just happened across it in my notebook. I want to make one or two more.. one of butterflies out of fabric from all over the world.. that will take a while.. and one of batiks on a black background. I do love this pattern.. it goes very quickly.

Tippy 05-27-2009 08:37 AM
